I've been a player in games which were all about this, and it was fun for this team and we were damn good at that kind of play (Ask me about the time the remainder of the party got squashed deep in the dungeon, my personality was chased by the cheap OSRS gold monster and managed to escape the dungeon by memory, no hint enabled as I wasn't the mapper) but style isn't inherently more correct if the principal objective is that and your buds having group fun. If you want to spend more time and like the group of people then find the fun that you can ALL have.
